NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Megan Caporossi (Northford, Conn.) of the softball team and senior Richard Jackson (New Rochelle, N.Y.) of the men’s track and field team have been named as the Comcast/Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Month for May.

Members Of Campus and Greater New Haven Communities Invited To Participate In 'Name The Owl' Contest

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University athletic department is inviting members of both the campus and Greater New Haven communities to submit nominations for its ‘Name The Owl’ mascot contest. The nomination process will run from March 1-March 31, and Owls’ fans from coast to coast can email their name suggestion to kobylanskim1@southernct.edu during that time period. Fans will also have the opportunity to make submissions in person during all March home athletic contests. A committee of campus community members will review the nominations in April, and the winning nickname will be announced on May 3, 2010. The individual(s) who introduce the winning nickname will receive a prize package courtesy of the SCSU athletic department.
